Who Are We?
Red Herring Productions is a privately held company based in Colorado. It is owned by several partners who have distinct professional careers with an impressive variety of theatrical backgrounds. The group dynamic resulting from the diverse experiences provides a wide variety of professional theatrical and educational experiences.

What Do We Do?
Red Herring specializes in Portable Improv Entertainment. We held our first performance in October, 1985. Since then we've done hundreds of shows in a variety of locations, from mountain tops to river rafts. Murder Mysteries are the core of our repertoire, but we've also added Educational Services, in which we apply our dramatic talents to corporate training. Whatever product we provide, it's essential characteristics remain portability, improvisation, and audience interaction.

What Does it Cost?
A Red Herring entertainment production is "less than a rock band and a lot easier to listen to." The specific cost is determined by audience size and travel cost. Our half and full day training seminars are usually about the cost you'd pay for a luncheon speaker! Depending on circumstances, the contract may also require provision of a per diem for meals and lodging. Contact us with questions or for an exact quotation.

What Does it Include ?
Our basic performances consisting of a victim, suspects and a game master have made tens of thousands of people very entertained and very happy. We recommend that you extend our performances with live period music and an awards ceremony! We can provide live flapper ragtime accompaniment with SpeakEasy, strollin', strumin', singin' cowboys with our Westerns, and a wide variety of other live musical acts. Recognizing and giving remembrances to the winners is especially well received. We can also add digital photography to our performances allowing us to publish images of your event on a private URL outside our home page that can be linked from your intranet site.

How Does It Work?
A Red Herring Murder Mystery takes approximately 2 hours, which typically include 20 minutes during cocktails or reception in which our characters mingle with your audience, 20 minutes of interaction between our characters that end in a "murder", 20 minutes during which teams from the audience interview suspects and examine evidence, 15 minutes for the teams to write their solutions, and 15 minutes for us to review the solutions with the audience. The time for a meal would add to the total length of the show.

Do you provide your scripts for private parties?
No.

Will you travel?
Absolutely! We are based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our performance, creative and management staff are located in Colorado Springs, Denver and Breckenridge. Since we principally serve the Rocky Mountain Region, our costs for in-region travel include mileage and lodging; out-of-region travel will include a small travel time premium and actual travel costs (lowest fare coach) and expenses (budget accommodations) to your location.

I'm an actor! Are you interested?
Sure. Our performance staff must be located along Colorado's Front Range, must be willing to do some travel, must be experienced in theatrical and improvisational performance and must frequently color outside the lines.
