The Show: Murder At The Villa
The Client: Western Forensic Law Enforcement

After attending sometimes-gruesome seminars all week, the Forensic folks wanted a different kind of murder mystery, one that would to fit in with their toga-party theme. We accommodated them with a new show set in ancient Rome.

One of the forensic scientists had a colorful tatoo of a young woman engulfed in flames. That same scientist also specializes in testing what happens to bodies in fires. After that, perhaps a little diversion is justified.

"I'll take this one."

Rubria selects her next slave purchase from the audience.

"Bring me wine, Eunice."

The Senator attends to the entertainment of his guests

"Very well then, Doctor. But I don't need the elixir anymore.

The Senator sends his physician away.

"What do you have there, Eunice?"

"The entrails of a goat, sir."

"Go to the overseer, Eunice, and tell him you are to receive a flogging for your impertinence."

(Perhaps forensic conventions lack in excitement as much as they excel in gore: the woman at left, with green head band and large gold earrings, immediately jumped up and volunteered to be flogged too.)

"But sir - I've found the secret of the Villa!"

Scopas reveals a discovery to the Senator.

"Go see to the wine, Scopas."

Callia protects her slave.

"Let us drink to the shades!"

The Senator proposes a toast.

"Friends! Romans! We have a murder to solve!"

Thelonius takes over.

This month we returned to Breckenridge, CO, for our sixth annual show for The Little Red Schoolhouse, where Alyssa is a teacher.

The Studio hired local Sheriff Bufford T. Moonley to privide security.

"I thought I had creative control."

"You do, Otto, you do. It's just that..."

"That costume change wouldn't be appropriate for the time and place."
